Hi.

After a few months I noticed the USB ports stopped working. Device manager reports "Unknown USB Device (Device Description Request failed)" . I have tried the usual driver update/uninstall reboot etc. Then I noticed the Blurtooth has also stopped working. Device manager doesn't detect any BT. Can anyone help? I'm thinking it's a hardware issue. Thanks in advance.

  • Open Device Manager and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.

Click Scan for hardware changes on the Actions menu to reinstall them.

Thanks, I just did that but it didn't fix it.

  • Did you right click on the unknown USB device in Device manager and uninstall it? If not, do it.
