Keep NumLock permanently on

Whenever I wake my laptop up from sleep mode, the NumLock function is off, even though it was active before it went to sleep.  I have already changed the Regedit values for HKEY_USERS, .DEFAULT, Control Panel and then Keyboard to 2 and this has fixed the NumLock being off at the initial boot up.  My problem only relates to waking up from sleep mode.  Any advice woulf be appreciated.

Is it sleeping or hybernating? Default seems to be 180 min sleep then ir goes into hybernate or hybrid sleep.

    Hi,

It happens when the laptop is in sleep mode.  If I close the lid for just a few seconds and then wake it up, the NumLock is deactivated.  Not the biggest problem, but annoying.

Did you do the registry hack in both places?

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard] (or
    [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard] for all users) "InitialKeyboardIndicators"="2"

    I also found this:

After you do the registry hack,

download Shapkeys and configure it like on this picture:

According to this, quite a few registry keys need to be changed to do it right.
