E5-521G, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA error (BSoD)

Hi,

I have the following new problem after trying to resolve an old problem:

After having updated the Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter driver, the system crashes/restarts with a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA error message. I made the driver update to solve a continuous wifi disconnection problem.

My System:

Aspire E5-521G

Windows 10 Home 64-bit, Version 1511

Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter

When bought, the notebook had Windows 8.1 which I updated to Windows 10. In both Windows version, I continuously had wifi disconnection issues (ie, losing internet access several times per day). I have spent a lot of time trying to fix the wifi disconnection issue, and have eg changed the Power Management settings (changed to maximum performance, and not allowing the computer to turn off the network adapter to save power) as well as resetting TCP/IP auto-tuning by disabling heuristics and global autotuninglevel. These changes improved the wifi disconnection problem a bit, but not entirely; disconnection still happened, just a bit less often.

Most recently, I updated the Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter driver to the version recommended on the acer support pages, which is driver version 7.35.267.0. After successful update, it seemend that the wifi disconnection issue was solved! HOWEVER, the new problem occured, with first a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error (I had that only once), and now the PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA errors which occur ca every 30 minutes on average.

I ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic which did not detect any issues. I ran an additional scan which likewise did not detect any issues with the memory. To be clear, I did not change any hardware or any other drivers.

My conclusion hence is that the updated Broadcom driver causes the new problems/crashes. However, rolling back to the previous driver, which I did, brings back the wifi disconnection issue.

What can I do?
