Anyone experiencing lag in everything you do on Aspire ES 15?

I am extremely disappointed by the performance of the Aspire ES 15. There are numerous times where I experience lag in almost everything I do. This is a new machine and I would expect this to be operating with optimal performance. It is working worse than my 8 year old laptop that the Aspire ES 15 was supposed to replace. Are there any models that the acer community can recommend to avoid this disappointment?
