Hi

I just purchased a new e5-572g laptop.

The ram details form the linux os are:

Kingston ACR16D3LS1KNG/4G
description: SODIMM DDR3 Synchronous 1600 MHz (0.6 ns)
size: 4GiB
width: 64 bits
clock: 1600MHz (0.6ns)
PC3-12800, 1.5V, 1.35V , CL 11, CAS Supported: 5 6 7 8 9 10 11
Non ECC
Unbuffered

1. will this RAM go well with the existing unit?

http://www.amazon.in/Kingston-1600MHz-Voltage-SODIMM-KCP3L16SD8/dp/B01C22DZ3M

2. Is it even a good idea to pair a 8gb ram with a 4 gb one?

3. Will the Acer support tehmselves come to my house and upgrade the ram for me? The laptop doesnt have a backpanel and I have on site warranty.

    Hi,

    1.Yes

2.I don't think there's noticeable difference between single and dual channel IMHO, if that's what you are inquiring, just a stick of 8GB RAM is more than enough for any work.

3.I can not say anything about it, give them a call and find out. I would suggest you to watch few youtube videos, familiarise with the procedure and do it yourself, take your time and open it, don't damage anything inside, insert the RAM.

    HTH.

    Hi Brummy

I run a lot of vms so 12 gb ram will be nice to have.

Also, i am worried about voiding warranty. thats why i wouldnt want to do it myself.

ANyway, thanks for confirming ram compatibility.

    Hi rishav_sharan,

As long as you don't break anything inside and damage any main components Acer will honour the warranty, however, you make sure that by contacting your regional Support centre, I have made the suggestion to save you some money.

    Thanks.

I am very happy to hear that Acer supports tinkering.

I will confirm the same with their support.
