In connecting my switch 10 to a TV I get a no signal to and from the TV via my switch 10 HDMI port. However,if I do a display software driver update, I than am connected to the TV with both picture and sound. When I shutdown or restart the HDMI connection to the TV is lost. What is causing the loss of HDMI at shutdown and how can I solve it?

    harryandgisela,

Try this, turn off the TV and restart your tablet. Turn your Tv and see if it picks up the external connection. You can also just unplug the cable from the tablet and plug the cable back in, that should take care of it also.

    To Justin

I did what suggested you as well tried other things. Here is step by step explanation of my problem:

    1. My switch 10 is in desk top mode and I then turn on the tv and connect via hdmi. TV shows no signal.

    2. No matter what I have tried the no signal remains on the TV until I go to the Device Manager and do a display adapter software driver manual update. Like magic I have a hdmi connection and can watch 5 hours or more of netflex films on my TV using my switch 10.

3, I turn off TV and later shut down my switch 10.

    4. The next time I go to desktop mode on my switch 10 and turn on tv. The tv shows no signal and I have to do manual update of display adapter software and then the no signal disappears and I again have functioning monitor.

My question is what is causing the loss of display adapter driver software on my switch 10 at shutdown and what can I do to correct the problem????

    harryandgisela,

Thanks for the update. Here is something else to try, when you have the tablet and the TV both connected and turned on and it not detecting the connection. Open the sound playback options and see if there is HDMI listed there, if so, right click on it and choose properties. It might actually activate before you even get that far.

Our tablet at home rarely gets the HDMI connection removed from the TV and tablet, but sometimes it does not detect the connection at all, we go into the sound playback options and poof, it appears.
