Hello, I have an acer aspire 5750, I have one stick of ram (4g) and want to double it.  My current stick has 8 small chips on one side and is kingston.  I ran a scan which stated I can upgrate as per the link.

I purchased this today at the PC store and they seemed to think this is compatible:  the brand they sold me

Will this be be compatible or will I get a blue screen???

Cheers in advance,

Jeff

I just upgraded a 7739G a first gen core i3 Arrandale with Westmere IMC from 4 to 8 gigs and must have tried 10 diff sticks before i found a stick of gskill that would work with the original nanya  my 5 year old laptop woiuld not run the newer higher density chips or DDRL for that matter  I think yours is newer and might have better mem controller and bios .you need to closly match the original stick for it to work banks of ram and voltage.nexus 302.jpg

    Hello langy007,

    1. Could you give me the first ten characters located on the white sticker of the original memory module?
    2. You can also find the Kingston part number with HWINFO portable solution (no installation).

    Any DDR3, PC3-10600, 1.5v, will work.

So the one the store sold me is no good it seems...as that appears to be 1.3 volts.

This is the parts list from the store I go to.  Please feel free to recommend the appropriate one.

I honestly appreciate the time you are giving.

    Hi langy007,

as that appears to be 1.3 volts

    You bought a DDR3L (1.35V) memory module - 1600MHz. It works at 1.35V and 1.5V (DDR3) and 1333MHz too. You can try.

Here are the Kingston suggested memory modules.
