Hi I bought a ssd to replace the hard disk in my acer e5 571g 50ns.
Using a desktop I transfer the os and oem partiton in ssd.
Because the notebook have fake cd/dvd drive I bought a adapter 2.5".
Thus, I put the ssd in sata port where before there was the hard disk and put hard disk into adapter in cd/dvd sata port.
When turn on pc the ssd is detected and it works perfectly but the old hard disk is not detected. In device manager it is not showed

Given that the garancy has invalidated, using my campus licence I have installed windows 10 deleting oem partitions.

Now my acer works perfectly with ssd and hdd.

have you checked if it's recognised on BIOS? (press F2 at boot)

have you checked if it's recognised on windows disk management?

So the caddy is not working or it will be recognised on BIOS.

The caddy has 2 leds, green and blue.

There is not on the istruction their mode of operation but the led green is always on and sometime is even blue.

When even leds are on the hard disk is clear but after a while it is missing

I'm glad you figured it out.......but all you would have had to do is use your recovery drive or discs that you made here:

Or if you had previously upgraded to Windows 10 on that computer, you could have just done a clean install of windows 10 and used your Acer OEM license:

I'm just giving you this information for "next time".  Smiley Happy

I have simply installed windows 10 from usb bootable, deleting oem partition and push bottom reset partition because it took up 16 gb on ssd with 112gb and I need it
