can you please report your ehternet Lan adapter model?

    windows logo key + x

    device manager

    click on network adapter

then with the ethernet cable plugged in, right click on the icon with yellow triangle near clock and date, choose "open network...."

on the next window, click on "ethernet", then click on "details", take a screenshot and send me a private message with this screenshot.

please right click both on device manager, choose uninstall, choose to uninstall software too if asked and then reboot.

let windows find the correct drivers and check again your connection.

When you connect the ethernet cable, do you turn off wifi?

    With only ethernet cable connected
    Windows logo key + x
    Command prompt (admin)
    Then on command prompt, type
    Ipconfig /all

Take a screenshot of the results and send me a private message.

I had a similar problem with an Aspire V running Windows 10. The SSID was detected and access attempted but always failed.

After many hours of unsucessful troubleshooting, I ended up just buying on eBay a USB wifi antenna.

    Wifi access worked properly thereafter.

    Some installation notes/caveats:

    - the machine supports one wifi antenna at a time. When the USB antenna is active, I have to disable the onboard antenna.

    - the installation software came on a CD. Since the Aspire did not have a DVD/CD reader, I had to cable the PC into my LAN, connect to another PC in my LAN read the the installation CD from that PC.

Beyond that, the operation was not to time consuming or complex.
