Hello all,

I have had my E1-572 for over a year now. It is currently running Windows 7 SP1, but I would like to install Linux (most likely Ubuntu) on it. Is this model known to work with Linux, or will I run into problems (bricked, sound not working, incompatible drivers, etc.) during install?

All the details I know about my system:

Model: Aspire E1-572-6859

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 (64-bit)

Processor: Intel Core i5-4200U @ 1.60 GHz

Graphics: Intel HD 4400

Display: 15.6" WXGA LED LCD

RAM: 8 GB DDR3

Storage: 500 GB HDD

BIOS: Version 2.13

Manufactured: March 2014

I am asking here before attempting to install Linux, because I want to be safe rather than sorry.

Thanks!

    Good to hear it.
About brightness...probably is not saving the setting, have a look at ubuntu official board, there are tons of suggestions.
    I'm not an Acer employee.
