In safe & uefi modes, the touchpad doesn't work

In safe & uefi modes, the touchpad doesn't work & there are 3 yellow flags on the system firmware, the monitor & the I2C controller. (ES1 laptop is only a month old). SFC/scannow is no help. Uninstall & reboot doesn't work. Don't really want to restore the whole system. Yet, in regular startup mode, the device manager has no red or yellow flags & the touchpad is ok. Ideas?

in safe mode it can happen that some drivers will be missing, since windows starts only with its default drivers, so probably Win8.1 doesn't have any generic driver for the hardware devices you mention.
