The two USB2 ports on my Aspire E15 do not connect to anything. My dongle lights up but does not connect to the internet. My printer does not accept commands, nor is in the connected  peripherals list.

Looking at some other websites, it is quite a common fault with Acer products, so I assume there is some downloadable update  to cover this?

    pheasantplucker,

It sounds like you are trying to connect a USB to Ethernet connection and it is not working, nor is your connected printer. I presume you are still using the operating system that came with the notebook and have not upgraded to Windows 10 yet?

Do any other USB devices (mouse, keyboard, USB flash drive for example) work, or is it just limited to these two items in the thread?

All sorted thank you. Your colleague suggested a Win 8.1 reinstall, but along the way I actually managed to do a Win 10 reset somehow.
    Kind regards,
