HELP since windows 10 did their dec9th 2016 update, I havnt been able to use my dvd player/burner
ive contacted windows lots of times and all they keep doing is rolling my acer back to system restore and re installing everything again and again and nothing works, it was working fine on dec 8th, but since then nothing involing my dvd player works, it came up with code 10 with a hazard sign and i checked the code out and it said power failure, then usb2.0-crw had a hazard sign next to it and now the dvd and the usb have both dissapeered off my system, they are not in device manager or anywhere else, my acer is a ES 15 21 88R9, its ment to have a dvd-rw drive with m-disc support, ive had it since june 2015 so its not that old, ive tried using a seperate player/burer through using the usbs but that shut down and said code 10 aswell, so if anyone knows how to fix this please let me know, acer said its windows fault and windows said its acers fault

Could you please tell us the actual model of your laptop, it should be like E5-3xxx, you could try a system restore to a date when it was working fine, you could also try downloading drivers for your model from here:https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/drivershttps://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/drivers

hi my laptop is a acer aspire ES 15, ES1-521-88R9, ive tried all that even took it back to factory settings and so have windows and they have took it back as far as that aswell and we still cant find where the driver has gone and we have all tried re installing the drivers for it but it does not work, its all to do with whatever was in that 9th december update from windows because everthing was working ok before then and it wont roll back to earlier than that now, ive done system restore that many times now and so have windows support that we now have ran out of ideas, even the usb2.0 crw is now missing, before i started getting windows involed it came up with code 10 and when i researched it it said it was a power failure and needed a hotfix which was to do with windows updates, ive told them all this and they still cant do it

hi ive looked all through my laptop and cannot find the power dvd, i feel sure i used to have it before that dec update and before windows started restoreing stuff, ive done every update there is through windows and acer support and still no dvd writer/player or even the disc door opening, theres no power to it which there was before the update
