ES1-512 Touchpad no longer working after Windows 10 Upgrade

I advised my father to buy an Acer laptop as I have had no issues with the products in the past and the heavily advertised on your product free Windows 10 Upgrade swung him having been on Mac for the last 5-6 years.

The touchpad worked fine out of the box but after upgrading to Windows 10, the pointer no longer appeared and did not seem to be an installed device. I have installed the pertinent Elantech drivers advertised on your website, Windows confirms installation but there is no change. There are still no devices under Mouse (unless I plug a USB mouse in).

I have looked across several of your support threads and none of your support staff have given an acceptable answer other than 'Uninstall the mouse and reinstall it' as if it's actually visibly installed in the first place.

Here is my device manager after installing the ElanTech drivers multiple times.

I do hope for a quick fix to this solution or sadly I'll be forced to tell my father to return the laptop and get a competitors product that does work as advertised.

Thank you.

    OneTwoFreeFour,

There is probably a bunch of Windows 10 updates that have installed that may have caused the issue to occur. My recommendation would be to perform a system restore to when it was working correctly and work forward from there.
