I have got myself this laptop due to it's size and upgrade options. It worked great at first, but then the touchpad started to freeze!!!!!! No matter what OS I have used - Win 7, Win 8, Win 10 - touchpad freezes and only Fn+F7 will restore its functionality for few seconds or for a few minutes. I have sent laptop back to Acer and all they did - reinstall windows OS. And of course touchpad worked on a fresh installation. I have done that myself numerous times!!!! Afer you reinstall

OS it works for few days and then issues appear again. I wish I can return this laptop and get my money back Smiley Sad

Currently I have latest BIOS, latest drivers and Windows 10.

I have seen numerous mentions from other people about same issue, and noone have mentioned the permanent fix.  So is there a fix for this issue? Or we are stuck with a semi-functional laptop?

    wenter,

If the touchpad is working for a few days and then stops it sounds like a software issue. It could just be that a Windows Update is causing the issue to crop up. Unfortunately it is just about impossible to know which one it would be if that is the problem. The good news is you can perform a system restore to when it was working and see what updates are getting installed that may be causing it to happen.

Another good troubleshooting step that has worked is to remove the drivers and let Windows 10 install drivers after a restart, rather than try and upload the drivers from our website.
