My eM250 still charges fine but I have no way to see how much juice I have left. no after market meters or anything like that has helped. How can I fix such an odd problem?

    iluvwhtchix,

I'm not familiar with the eM250 system, is that a Gateway or eMachines unit?

The battery no longer shows up in the Device Manager after you installed Windows, which Windows did you install?

Apologies! It's the eMachines and it's just a re-install of XP pro. I love using this net book with XP because it's super fast and I mainly have it to surf when I'm away from home. The "standby" button is also greyed out but I don't have any yellow exclamation points in my device manager. Could all this be conjoined somehow?

    iluvwhtchix,

I've looked at the quick start and service guide and do not see a standby button, what am I missing? LoL Smiley LOL

It just sounds like there are some drivers that did not install, was this with the media that was sent from eMachines? There might be a drivers disc that could resolve the issues, if so. You can always go check to see if you have the right drivers on our eMachines support page.

Yep! I've visited and re-visited the support page and even reinstalled most of the drivers available  but can't seem to find a driver I apparently need. I have noooo idea where the orignal disc vanished to. I have been searching for a week at least trying to find the mythical Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery LOL. And from what I've gathered from what you're saying I'm basically missing a FEW drivers? UGH! Smiley Mad

    iluvwhtchix,

Well, you can always try and see if you can install Windows 10 on the system when it comes out. I realize that this is a netbook designed for power efficiency, but it might find the drivers and stuff you need.
