Hi to all that may be able to shed some light on why this is happenning.

I have an Acer ES1 111M Laptop/Netbook and I'm having issues with the space available on the hard drive.

Please bare with me, as my knowledge of computers is very limited, let alone trying to fix one.

With your help and advice I hope to achieve that.

Hard drive is showing capacity of 19.3 GB used with 0 Bytes available.

Windows 8.1 installed.

No other files are stored on this hard drive. I have now moved all my photos, documents, music and downloads onto an external hard drive.

So why is it still showing no available space? 0 bytes?

If anyone can help me with this I would really appreciate it. Im a disabled person and need to use this laptop to be able to prepare an urgernt case.

Many thanks in advance for all your help.

be sure to have really moved all your files to the exteranl USB drive, not just copied.

if you just copied, you need to delete manually the moved files.

    do also a disk cleanup

    press windows key logo

    type

    disk

    click on disk cleanup

once the disk cleanup popup, click on clean up system files

then select the file you want to delete (it's safe to do it)

    Hi IronFly,

    Thanks for your reply,

I had tried to use the clean up function, however after the process it only shows that I have 6.6kb of files to delete.

I was in the process of creating an Acer Factory Default Backup using my 32GB USB.

My plan after that was then to do a restore of some kind. Not sure which so any advice on this would help no end.

Last thing I want to do is restore the laptop to the point I have to buy window os again.

    Thanks

I found this link on the acre site regarding how to restore windows using Acer recovery management. https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26281

Would this be the right course of action to take after creating an Acer factory backup on my USB?
