Hey guys,

I bought my acer in February this month. Its long battery life was excellent combined with its great performance - for me as a student, those are the two most important things. I updated to windows 10 in August and didn't really like it at first but got used to it. I wasnt using my laptop on battery during the summer, mainly because I simply didnt have to, but now im back in school and I have a serious problem. In June (last time I was using it on battery) it lasted about 7-8 hours (on Wi-Fi - google chrome + word) which was amazing. But now it only lasts like 2,5 hours (or less), which is everything BUT amazing compared to the battery life in summer semester. I have no idea when this rapid drop happened as I wasnt using it on battery during summer but im really not happy about it.

Now. According to the windows 10 energy report (cmd powercfg -energy) my battery seems to be ok (design capacity 55944; last full charge 53768). And I would be really disappointed if it wasnt, because 8 months isnt long enough for me for a battery to lose that much capacity. But obviously thats not the problem. So what is it then?

I'm desperate, could you help me out?

EDIT: energy report also says, ASPM of PCI Express is disabled due to hardware incompatibility. Tried updating to latest BIOS availiable on acer homepage - no change.

    nevimco,

I see some Windows 10 drivers posted for that system, I would make also make sure the Intel versions are up to date at least.
