Acer E5-551G Network & touchpad issues

I bought an E5-551G a few months ago and it's been nothing but dissapointment.

Neither the 2.4Ghz built-in wifi nor the (supposedly) Gigabit ethernet port function properly. They both max out at 5mbps.

The touchpad drivers crash everytime the computer is put to sleep. Only way to fix is reboot the system or uninstall the device from device manager and scan for hardware changes.

Never buying acer again.

    ginosuave,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your notebook, here are a couple troubleshooting steps I can offer that might resolve it.

    • How old is the router you are using, does it have the latest firmware on it? The Ethernet (wired) connection would have to have some sort of outside influence to only be getting 5 MBps speeds.
    • Reinstall the wireless network connection drivers see if that fixes it.
    • Download the touchpad drivers from our support site, remove the touchpad drivers from the device manager, then install the drivers you downloaded from our support site directly.
    • Perform a refresh to see if there are any corrupt files that need fixing.
    • Uninstall any 3rd party programs or applications that may have been installed to see if that resolves it.
