ACER E5 575G Kabbylake DDR4 2400 running at 2133
Hi Just purchased acer (i7 7500U, No SSD) with 4GB RAM the system was too slugish so i have decided to add more ram the originally installed ram is PC4 kingston 2400. but when i use the task manager it shows 2133MHz clock speed so should i buy 2133 DDR4 or 2400 as one is already installed.
Also it says to make ram run faster u need xmp profile and this needs to be changed in bios. but i think the bios is locked as i cannot see any advance options.
also i have updated BIOS 1.23v
Any sugestions???

Hi,
Yes, it will run at 2133MHz as the speed is determined by the motherboard, I have suggeted to get PC4-2400 to match the existing module and not much difference in price between them, if you want, you can get 2133MHz module and it will work.

Hi,
This model motherboard degined to run at 2133MHz and PC4-2400 is capable of up to 2400MHz speed, as you already have a PC4-2400, I would suggest you to get another stick with exact specs, there's not much noticeable difference between 2133MHz and 2400MHz but if you replace the HDD with a SSD you will notice a vast improvement in response(faster).

thanks for replay
just to clear i should buy 2400MHz ram so that my system can run them on 2133MHz ??
if i for example add 2133MHz ram theoretically the system should run ok as i believe the basic speed of DDR4 is 2133MHz.
the question is can we run the ram in the system on 2400MHz speed

And yes you are correct on the SSD the system will improve with the help of SSD.
