I have an emachine W3629, my daughter boy friend thought he could speed it up and now it will not boot up at all!  I get these messages NO PXE Stack, Chain loader (hd0,0) + 1 Error 22: No such partition. I will not boot to windows and I cannot figure out how to restore it back to and early time

Do you know what he did to try to speed it up?

Do you see the "e" logo when you switch it on?

Press F2 (or DEL) to see if you can access BIOS. Search for the "Load Default Settings" (or similar), press F10 to Save and Exit. Now see if it boots.

If there is no change, and you haven't backed up your data, it would be best to remove the hard drive & connect it to another computer to retrieve your data. Once complete, replace the hard drive.

Restart the computer & press F11 - this should access the built in recovery program. This will erase everything & re-install Windows onto the hard drive. If this fails, use your recovery disks to reinstall. Once this completes, you will need to reinstall all your programs, Windows Updates, and all the files you backed up.

If, however non of the above is possible, there may be bigger issues with the machine. Post back, and we will see if we can help further.
