Hi ,

spent 3 days trying to configue tne ssd cache drive in my 5600U.

I have installed expresscache and intel rst

The drive is recognised in the bios and device manager.

I tried to follow the guides I found on here.

It keeps erroring out when using the expresscache command ECCmd -ITEM

stuck now.

Anyone got any ideas?

What software is used for the 20 gig ssd on my acer 5600U.

Suppose you all want to know how........

Well here is how

I followed two guides.

 1 http://community.acer.com/t5/Ultra-Thin/GUIDE-Install-ExpressCache-for-SSD-Caching/td-p/64381

2 http://www.tomlecluse.be/blog/20120820/activate-express-cache-issd

First I followed guide  1 up to where you make a decision on expresschache only or Intel Rapid start with expresscache.

At this point I swapped to guide 2.

I followed this guide upto "then carry on with installing windows 7"

Rebooted

Then went back to guide 1 and followed installing with Intel Rapid Start with ExpressCache:

I had already installed IRST.

I then followed the guide to the end.

Rebooted

When using cmd prompt I used it as run with administrator.

When installing express cache again install as administrator.

Anyway this has worked for me. ont know if it is the right or wrong way or even a easier way .

To be fair i dont care lol

Hi Mattybobbyball

I need your help. I have an acer 5600u and want to install a ssd drive. Where did you connect the drive ?  Did you use a msata or sata drive ? Cant see extra connector for ssd on mother board . Hope you are able to help.
