Hi. My first post.
I bought a Revo RL80 barebones. Expecting to be able to install my Win 7 Ultimate edition. No luck All chipset drivers are Win 8 only.
So I bit the bullet and downloaded a Win Pro update from MS. It would not complete the install despite trying to download direct from their site or creating a bootable USB stick.
Thanks to MS they refunded me immediately. I then bought an update DVD from PC World with much the same result.
It installs and at the last hurdle tells me there is a "problem" and will reinstall the previous OS.
The error it gives is IRQL_NOT_LESS_NOT_EQUAL. People seem to get around this once the OS is installed, but I don't get that far.
I had a Consumer Preview version of Win 8 from last year that installed without issue, but expired today.
Any help appreciated. I have a valid Win 7 Ultimate version not installed on any other PC and a valid update from Win 7 to Win 8 Pro. Odd how the free Consumer Preview worked fine until it expired and when I choose to pay for it, it falls apart.

Unfortunately, I don't have suggestions on installing your non-OEM operating system on your RL80. You can order recovery disks for your system at http://www.acer.com.

I'm having similar problems, I have installed Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and want to know why there are no drivers available for this os. Most of the drivers work ok but the wireless network card doesn't and there are 2 others one unknown device and one usb driver. It loks like I am going to have to update to Windows 8.1 unless drivers are available.

Just tried to install 8.1 on my new Revo RL80 barebones OS free machine.
Thought it was a simple case of plugging in DVD Drive hit f12 on restarting and booting from the disk.
No go !
Clearly not that simple, the box just comes with a leaflet on fitting the stand, and a driver cd.
Can someone put me onto a idiots guide for OS Bare bones setup.
APM not avaliable is that the issue.
