Password problem with Aspire Z5700

I entered a 9-caracters password for my Aspire Z5700... but when I rebooted, I could only enter 8 caracters!

Who does the the Z5700 bios converts 9-caracters to 8-caracters? I've tried both by removing first ou last caracter but it does not work.

Did you use any special characters in your BIOS password?
