I haven't turned it on for about 2 years, now when I turn it on from the tower it makes this noise, like alarm bells and my keyboard and mouse dont work, just wondering what can I do to be able to use it again. It's about 5 years old. Please help ![]()

It is possible that you have a hardware problem and are hearing "beep codes".
These are a series of long and short beeps to indicate what kind of problem the system is having.
Unfortunately, with the system being as old as it is, there is no warranty support for it any longer.
If you listen to the codes and post what you hear, someone may have some additional advice on what to do.

Thank you for that. The codes are constant short beeps, like an alarm bells going off, not sure if that helps. ![]()

Is it continual or in a series that repeats?

It's continual, as soon as I turn it on.

Disconnect all peripherals.
Take the battery out.
Connect it to AC power.
Power the system on.
Does it still occur?
