Thanks, djh1980, I thought that piece had the key somehow. I went ahead and tried, and here's how I was able to get the cover off --
First -- lie the computer face down. I placed it on a towel on my dining table to support it.
Second -- use a paperclip, eject the DVD drawer, and carefully remove the plastic face piece.
Third -- press the back leg flat down, that seems to help with removing the vent piece.
Fourth -- slide the vent piece up, towards the top edge of the computer. Don't pull it straight out. I pulled it straight out and broke the top two tabs. There are six tabs on the vent piece that slot into the machine and it slides up to remove.
Fifth -- remove the three screws holding the leg and carefully pull it straight away because there are locating pins holding it in position.
Sixth -- Remove the three screws from the bottom of the case, and the five screws at the bottom of the front foot. Carefully pry the case off starting from the bottom foot edge. The case back cover is actually two pieces that are spot-welded together, and it is fairly fragile.
The memory slots are under a metal cover to your right that is removed with three screws. I'm already noticing improved performance after increasing from 4 to 8 gb!
By the way; I did take pictures, but I'm just not sure how to post them!
