Hey Rickg100, when you said you installed the drivers what does that mean. Can you share the process or any steps that you did. I don't see the Pen and Touch options in the Control Panel but if you've got it working, I can do it too perhaps and then I can put together the complete process along with the drivers so that thousands others can be benefitted....so far I am myself in the pit

you can try driver reviver, the program can search automatic for the driver

I downloaded the IdeaCom drivers from the acer support for the Z5171 and worked!

Apachemono, Just uncompress the .ace file from freeza (winace will do it). Once it's extracted, you'll see a setup.exe file, just run that and follow the prompts.

Hi freeza - newbie here - same touch screen issue - after Windows 8 upgrade, no touch functionality on Acer Aspire Z3171.

Hi Tom - sorry to be a total dork but I don't know what to do with the info you provided. I tried to paste it into my browser but it doesn't work?

Copy, past to browser, enter and should get a new window with downloading file.

After downloading, you need to unpack file and install setup.
