Here's some help for all you "touchless" ppl out there...
Just upgraded my Z5101 to win 8.1 and stumbled across the same driver issue.
After some twiddling I finally got the bugger to work and figured others may find this info useful so decided to register and post.
Firstly get:
global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Touch/Touc
Link was posted here earlier in the thread.
Extract the zip to a folder on your desktop.
Now, the trick here is to unpack IdeaCom_Touch_Driver.msi
Get Universal Extractor 1.6.1 (google it).
Install (just click next, next...)
Once done go to the extracted zip folder.
Right click IdeaCom_Touch_Driver.msi and click on uniextract to subdir.
IdeaCom_Touch_Driver.msi should now unpack to a folder in the same directory (IdeaCom_Touch_Driver).
Dig in deep into that directory to find dpinst.exe.
Double click to install.
Reboot.
Done!
Hope this works for ya ![]()
Cheers,
NR.

Freeza,
I have an Acer Aspire AZ5101 I have upgraded to Windows 8 pro and now my touch screen does not work. I understand you have something you can email me to correct the issue. Please help if you can. Very frustrated LOL
Julho
I have the same problem with touch screen not working after installing Windows 8.1 I have an Aspire AZ3101. Can you help?
Thank you
Julho
Acer uses 10 point touch. M$ only adds the 5 point touch screen drivers... so usually a DL from Acer for 10 point Touch should fix... I used the Default Drivers from Acer on my u5-610 Windows 8.1 up1 v17085, and works perfect.
