Error message: no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed. Called support for this computer that is just over its 1 year warranty period and they told me that I would need to have a new hard drive installed and order the recovery disk. I went looking on the website, found the recovery disk, put it in my shopping cart and found out when putting my address in, that they do not ship to Canada!
So what happens to us Canucks that have had a computer crash?!!
Your help and direction would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, we do not have Recovery media available from the Canada Acer Store online.
We hope to add this functionality in the future.
In the mean time, please review this article regarding Reloading your computer:

Do you know anybody in the US? Have them buy it for you and mail it to you.

Hi tyracer.
I know in Canada the Geek Squad carries them at Best Buy.
I know because they gave me an extra set.
(Maybe if you post your PC type, maybe one of us that has the same make and model can help if we have extra...)

I also require this media. Has anyone heard of this service? (http://server88-208-222-62.live-servers.net/). They offer direct download of the recovery images for about $25 USD. I am tempted but I really don't want to go through that route if I don't have to. (PM's would be welcome)
ACER, it would be great if I could just order these! Arg!

I have no knowledge of that service, nor would I suggest paying for anything that we offer on our Driver site.
If you need recovery media, I would suggest contacting the Acer Store via telephone.

This is disappointing beyond words. This Acer 4739Z-4462 is my 12-year old son's notebook. We enthusisatically purchased it for him thinking it would be his best Christmas gift ever. The hard-drive just crashed the other day and none of the key combinations at start-up work (Alt-F10). I created a system repair disk and the Bios orthe utility does not even see the hard drive.
We keep on getting an "I/O Error" as if the hard-drive is disconnected. But, when you remove the hard drive and diagnose it, the drive and the files are intact. All, I can think is wrong at this point is the system files are damaged and a system restore is needed.
Virus and Malware checks were applied too. Maybe the Motherboard is the issue, but that seems catastrophic.
Can Acer Canada please send me the Recovery Media?
