If it is a desktop and you have an open slot, then yes. As soon as you plug one in, it will disable the onboard gpu and you will be able to use the graphics card that you installed.

It's an AMD don't forget and it has the built in graphics in the cpu, so it's called a gpu and not cpu. I've already upgraded the graphics with a 1 gig gddr5 radeon HD6790 and maxed out the ram at 16 gigs, I just want to know if I can change the cpu up from the 2.4 that's in it now?

oh, ok. you asked if the gpu could be upgraded, not the cpu. Thank you for that clarification. From the specs, this has an AMD A8-3800 in it. I do not think this can be upgraded anymore. I do see other models with the A6 processor, but the highest that I see here is the A8 processor that you already have. The motherboard is usually designed for certian processors and it seems that this is the highest that it can go. Hope this helps.
