Hello,
I'm trying to configure a newly purchased Acer desktop (Aspire ACX-603G-UW31), which has Windows 8.1 installed, for my mother who cannot grasp the steep learning curve from Windows 7 to Windows 8.
I have a fully licensed copy of Windows 7 x64 on DVD, and even after disabling SecureBoot mode and setting Launch CSM to Always, and then booting with F12, selecting the DVD drive as the boot device, Windows will not install correctly.
The very initial steps of setup are fine, that is, I am asked the press any key to boot from the DVD, Windows setup loads some files, but the problem comes when Windows setup actually starts. I get a BSOS STOP error with the message "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI complaint." There is no updated BIOS for this model. So much for Legacy Mode...
Any ideas?
Thanks, Nick
