I purchased the veriton x2631 in June, 2014. When booting, there was never a beep until 2 weeks ago. Now when
I turn it on, there is one short beep. It still seems to be operating but something must be wrong, why wasnt it
giving that one beep on boot for 2 months. Bios version Acer P21-A4, 1/20/2014. Window 7. I have searched the internet
and it says it might be memory issue, please any advice would be great. It is frustrating to have a new computer for 2 months and something changes, like one short beep on boot. Thanks in advance.

My desktop gives one short beep when it is turned on and it doesn't have any problems. Usually, if you get a beep code, the system will not boot or will not be acting properly.
Other than the short beep, what problems is your system experiencing?
Is it possible it has always had the beep and you just didn't notice because it was hibernating and not shutting down, or something like that?

If your desktop has Windows 8 or 8.1 installed, check whether the "Fast Startup" is turned off, if it is, then the desktop will "beep" during booting.
If the "Fast Startup" is turned on, the desktop will not "beep" and the user can't enter BIOS setup by pressing "Delete" key.
The above mentioned applies to my TC 605, I am not sure whether it also applies to other computers with Windows 8 or 8.1 installed.

It is not possible that I didnt notice the beep for two months. The reason, it was a surprise to hear it! The computer seems to be working fine, just worried about the reliability of the unit. Thanks for replying.
