Aspire X 1430G HDMI problems

I am running Win 7 on my AX 1430G. When I plug in an HDMI cable between the computer and my Sony HD TV I only can see the wall paper and the mouse pointer ghosting. I have tried to specify the TV on the desktop to no avail. I can manage to get the sound with no problems. My goal is to watch streaming video from my computer to my HD TV. Can anyone walk me through the setup or is this computer even capable of doing what I want. Thank you.

It may be necessary for you to post a part number for the system, or complete model number.

You can also private message me the serial number and SNID of the system and I can look it up.

It sounds like you are getting the HDMI connection working.

What is the process that you are using to connect?
