Heya, just bought the Aspire m3985 with the following standard setup:
WINDOWS 8
Intel Core i7 processor 3770
nVidia GeForce GT640 4GB
1TB Hard Drive
16GB DDR3 memory
DVD-Super Multi drive
Card Reader
Wireless LAN+ Bluetooth.
Now my question is if i can swap the GT640 that's in there for my own GTX 660 Ti, is this possible? Thanks for the help already, I'm also concerned about the power supply? What to do, what to do ^^?

Oh yeh and another question, should I uninstall my drivers eventhough they are exactly the same for the new card?

And nevermind I opened my baby up and instantly saw that the power supply was insufficient + the wireless receiver blocked the space needed for my gtx 660 ti which is significantly bigger than the gt 640, I think around 4-5 times the volume atleast! It's possible to rearrange this but then I'd stil need 2 x 6-pin powercords leading from my power supply + well some sort of saw to widen the slot openings at the back of the pc because of the weird positioning of the motherboard
... Shame! Broke the warranty seal the first day I bought the pc for nothing ^^. **bleep** shame ^^!
Small advice to Acer: Give a manual with your desktops from now on showing the inside structure and stuff, or atleast make this stuff available on your website
, a clear description concerning the power supply and power requirements of each individual piece of hardware is also necessary, you can't expect people to not try stuff out when you put 'Grow' on the folder. (= http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/series/aspirem

Drizzle out.
