I have an Acer Aspire E650 purchased in 2006 I am very fond of. I have ran the Windows 7 update advisor and find that I can update this machine to Windows 7 but no further.

My question to the forum is there another motherboard and CPU available that fits this tower and will allow me to upgrade to Windows 8 and beyond?

I installed a 400 watt power supply last year and all the other components of this machine are in perfect working order.

I really like this computer with the media center software package because it allows me to watch DVD movies and utlilize the remote control that came with it.

Any input and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
