Aspire E380 Realtek HD Audio Manager keeps popping up

Hello again this is my last unsolved problem with one of my old Aspire E380's as the title suggests the Realtek HD Audio Manager keeps popping up informing me that some thing has been unplugged when nothing has been unplugged or indeed plugged in. The situation is that it will do this randomly for a time then completely stop then for no reason start up again some time later. I have not kept a record to see if the occurrences are on a time table, they do seem rather random.

I have done all the usual installed updated drivers, uninstall Realtek and reinstalled it but to no avail.

Any other suggestions..........I am confident it is not power related.

Hello Bodi,

You have many problems!

1- Have you cleaned your desktop with an air bomb?

2- Check the usb connectors on the motherboard.

2- Check the battery voltage in the bios utility.

3- In the bios utility, "Load the default settings" or "Optimazed settings"

Hi Bodi

Try stopping the Realtek program from startup - this will stop all messages & notifications regarding audio, but obviously won't affect the sound itself.

To do so, press Windows Key & R to bring up the Run box, and type MSCONFIG. Click on the Startup Tab, and uncheck the Realtek entry. Click OK/Apply & restart. You will now not be bothered by notifications on audio.

Hope this helps!

Re: Aspire E380 Realtek HD Audio Manager keeps popping up

Hi Pioneer

I did as you suggested and I could not find any thing in the "Start Up" tab or any other tab related to Realtek to uncheck. As I said I have completely uninstalled Realtek and did a fresh reinstall from a down load from the Realtek web site and the problem persists.

I googled the problem and it seems quite common but no real answers found that completely solved the problem.

It has me rather baffled I suspect it is a virus but AVG and Malwarebyte has failed to spot it.

I have reduced the power drain on this comp as much as possible so it is not power related.

I suppose just uninstalling Realtek and forgetting it is a solution but not sure how that will effect the running of the computer I'll give it a try see what happened.

Hi as you suggested I went into the bios and "Load the default settings" then F10 saved and exited the had problems starting the computer as it was asking for the installation CD, The first boot up option had been changed to a removable. Lucky for me I have the knowledge to go back into the bios and change the first boot back to the HD. So problem solved. I'll let you know if these changes have made any difference soon.

Thanks for the help

Edit :-

Ok checked all the USB ports and they all seem to be working ok.

So far no Realtek poppups are popped up.

Watch this space...............

Again thanks
