Aspire 5600U Sleep Not Working

I have a new Aspire 5600U AIO which came with Windows 8 installed.  When I put the computer to sleep, the screen goes black as expected.  However, the fans continue to run the whole time and the power light changes from white to orange after a few seconds.  Once it goes orange, I am not able to wake the computer from sleep and even pressing the power button doesn't do anthing.  I have to hold the power button down for 4 seconds to get it to reboot.

In addition, if I shut down the computer, the screen goes black, however the power light stays on (white) and it sounds like the computer is still running.

I have two of these computers that were bought and set up at the same time (in the last week) - one works perfectly and the other has these issues.  I've checked that the keyboard is set to be able to wake from sleep and have had a look at the power management settings (both in windows and the bios) - these settings seem to be the same on both computers.

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Re: Aspire 5600U Sleep Not Working

Sounds like you've checked everything I would ask you to check, esp. as you have two systems.
