After a long awaited PC update, I bought a brand new Aspire M3985, so far it works perfectly, I use a 24" Acer monitor connected via DVI.
This desktop comes with a VGA plug covered with a plastic cap, my question is the following:
I have a fairly old VGA monitor that I want to use as a second monitor, is there a way to activate the VGA port so I can plug a second monitor via VGA without having to buy any sort of adapters or peripherals?
Thanks for your replies...

As the system ships with an onboard video controller, are you looking at the onboard connections or the connections of the dedicated discrete video card in the expansion slots?
If you have a discrete video card added in the expansion slots, you would need to use the connections on that video card. The internal card should be disabled while this expansion card is installed.
