I had to reinstall Windows 7 on my Acer Z5600 because of a hard drive crash. I have downloaded and installed all of the drivers with the exception of the wireless drivers.
The Realtek drivers gives me an error message saying that the operating system is incorrect and it does not install. The Ralink drivers appear to install but the Device manager still shows the wireless as the Network Controller with the yellow explanation mark. I do have the ethernet connection working but have hit a brick wall with the wireless drivers.
Anyone have any idea?

Update the driver through device manager and check if that install the drivers. If not provide me the hardware ID, it will be listed in detail tap if you right click on network controller right click properties then details tab.

Thank you for the suggestion; it worked. The wireless was a Realtek and I was able to install the drivers through Device manager.
Don't understand why the Realtek Driver setup was erroring out with a wrong operating system message.
Thanks again!

Have you checked the size of the driver downloaded? Some times while downloading the whole files won't be downloaded due to error in download in that situation this type of error can happen while running the setup. Have you extracted the drivers before you run the step file?
Please mark it as solution if the issue is solved.

I did not check the size of the driver that i donwnloaded.
As I said, I updated the wireless adapter through Device Manager and the wireless is working fine.
I consider this posting to be resolved. Thank you very much for your help and advise.
I'm not sure how I mark this as a solution hich it is?
