I have been having problems with my Acer Z5610. One day it just turned itself off and upon restarting wouldn't boot up windows and kept going to the Acer erecovery screen which would shut down my computer when it reached around 20%. I tried re installing windows from Disk which also turned off my computer half way through.

Now when booting from both Disk or HDD i get the error message -

File: \boot\BCD

Status: 0xc0000034

Info: An error occured while attempting to read the boot confifuration data.

I initially thought this sounded like a fault with the HDD and would replace that but i thought i would get some advise from here first?

My first guess is a failed HD.

I would replace as a first step.
