- generating a warning box "Application is already running." I get the warning every time I boot my computer. (Aspire AT3-600-UR33)
The app is in fact working - I can connect with my Android phone - but I want to get rid of the warnings, and I'd rather launch the app myself. I found the Acer Remote folder in the program files, but when I tried to unistall I got: "Invalid Start Mode: Archive File Name". Task Manager reveals ArcServer (with ArcRemote and Windows Media Player listed underneath) is running in background processes and is in the StartUp list. I think this problem started when I upgraded to Win 8.1, but I can't be sure. The AcerRemote app came pre-installed on my computer, but the app does not appear in my Start screen or the complete list of apps below. Acer support has been SINGULARLY unhelpful. They want me to do a "system refresh" to Win 8.0 which would wipe everything but my files, but not necesarily prevent the problem from happening again when I go back to 8.1. They offered no explanation of the problem with THEIR APP. Everything I've found out I did without their help. Any advice would be appreciated.
UPDATE: I stoped the Acer Remote in Task Manager and was able to uninstall using the control panel (the uninstall.exe file in the app folder did not work - see above). A lot simpler than the Acer chat support recommended fix. Now I want to see about reinstalling it. Where can I download it? It's not in the Windows app store.

Acer Remote is part of Acer Cloud and can be downloaded from here:

I think you are referring to the wrong Acer Remote. I'm not talking about the file sharing program, I'm refering to the program that allows you to control your desktop's cursor with your phone.
It has 2 components, the android app (which I have) and the desktop program (which I uninstalled). I need to reload the desktop program. It's part of something called ArcServer, not Acer Cloud. The only description I can find is here: http://acer-au.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_i

Acer Remote is not the same thing as Acer Remote Files. Two different programs, from what I can see.

You are absolutely correct. They are two different programs.
Acer Remote (not Remote Files) is not downloadable from any Acer site. It is a preinstalled application.
You may be able to reinstall from Recovery Manager, under Applications and Drivers.

I don't see ArcServer or Acer Remote listed in the Recovery Manager (Reinstall Drivers or Applications).
There is some discussion of the issue in the reviews on Google Play. One user referred to this file: Application_Acer_1.0.3_W8x64_A.zip which apparently is available for download somewhere on the Acer support website...

The Acer Remote program appeared (before I uninstalled it) at C:\Program Files (x86)\Acer Remote

New information for me ...
| Application | Acer | Application | 1.0.3 | 5.7 MB | 2013/08/29 |
That does appear to be Acer Remote. I'm going to make sure that I feedback the name needs to be changed so we can actually FIND it as Acer Remote. Frustrating!

Thanks for the link, I hadn't been able to find it. Seems to work fine. Thanks for following through.
The fact that there are two completely different Acer programs called Acer Remote didn't help either. I literally wasted hours trying to convince consecutive layers of the Acer Tech support chat folks that I didn't need Acer Remote Files, and when I did they basically hung up on me when I refused the only fix they offered - "refresh" back to Windows 8.0. That seemed to be their default plan for everything.
