Acer Aspire X3475 Internet Problems

Hi all, I have a 4 month old X3475 which has started playing up last Wednesday. The problem is as follows... The computer will start up and connect automatically to the wireless in my house. The wireless is working fine, as there are other laptops and tablets connected to the connection without any problems. I can click on and open firefox, however from this point on, if I try to search or type a new website in the address bar, the computer will loose its wireless connectivity.... it takes about 30 seconds for it to come back online, but will still not search for anything on the internet. I have been online chatting with microsoft, who have reset all sorts of things, and even went into my wireless router and changed the settings there. My desktop would work if it was in the same room as the router, however when I bring it back into my office (which is about 20m away) it continues to have this problem. Like I said, all other devices that run on this network are not having any problems with connecting to the network or the internet. Since then I have done a number of the guides on the internet, inc removing my Norton, reinstalling Windows 8, setting my computer back to factory settings, and downloading the up-to-date drivers from the Acer website only to install them and have exactly the same problem. Can anyone help me with this? Or does it sound like a hardware problem? Thanks in advance, Andrew

Re: Acer Aspire X3475 Internet Problems

I'm going to pick a few key phrases from your description of the issue that you are having.  Hopefully, this will help us narrow down where the issue is actually occuring.

The wireless is working fine

By this you mean that the wireless router/AP is operating correctly, as other devices connect to it.

Are these devices in your office (20m away) as well?

My desktop would work if it was in the same room as the router

So it works when it is closer to the router.

when I bring it back into my office (which is about 20m away) it continues to have this problem.

Have you tested in additional locations closer to the router, but not as distant as the office?

What is between where the computer resides in your office and the router?

Any electronics or appliances?  Microwave? Phone equipment?
