Microphone for Acer Chromebook 11 CB3-131?

My son is wanting to use headphones with a microphone to record information on his CB3-131 Chromebook.  Does the headphone jack also accept microphone input through the same port?

  Hello,

   

  CB3-131 is equipped with a headset (headphones with built-in microphone) jack (Ø3.5mm). If he wants to use headphones and a microphone separated, he will need this type of adapter.
