I inserted a memory card into the slot and found it difficult to get back out. I also got a notification saying I should "eject" it rather than removing it manually. How do I eject the card? Thanks.

When you insert it you should feel a click as it goes all the way in. To remove just push it in again and it should spring back out.

Click on "Like" if you find my answer useful or click on "Yes" if it answers your question.

Ejecting a memory card in computer parlance isn't the same as physically removing it. Ejecting is sometimes called dismounting the storage volume.

You should eject the card first. If not, the card might become unreadable.

Open Files, locate the SD card.

To Eject it, click on the upward pointing arrow next to its name. This tells the Chromebook to stop writing to it and forget that it is there.

The card will disappear from the list in Files. It is now safe to remove.

To remove the card, depress it slightly.  It should pop right out.
