Hi!

First a bit of context. I was using my chromebook when the computer froze and restarted. After restarting I was presented with the message about Chrome OS being missing or damaged.

I tried then recovering it with the recovery media (https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/6002417?hl=en) but the recovery process would fail at the end of the media verification. I created the media in both Linux and Windows and using two different USB sticks. I also tried in both USB ports (3.0 and 2.0).

Below I leave the details of my Chromebook, the “Tab” message of “Chrome OS is missing or damaged.” and the logs of my last attempt (I attempted twice with that stick, once per USB por so I don’t know if the logs show the last attempt or the two of them).

Chromebook details:

  • Acer C720
  • Model: PEPPY C6Q-V3A-I9M

“Tab” message:

Looks like the SSD is gone or having errors.

if you are out of warranty, you can give a look if it's well seated, you just need to unscrew the bottom cover screws.

the SSD is replaceable too but depends if it's worth.

    I'm not an Acer employee.
