c720 touchpad does not work after resuming from sleep mode

Strange problem with my C720 chromebook. If I close the lid to put it to sleep when I open the lid again it resumes as normal but the touchpad does not work. If I power it down and then power it back up the touchpad resumes working. I have powerwashed it a couple of times but that did not solve it. Anyone have any ideas?

I feel that if you reinstall the Chrome OS it should resolve your issue. If not then it could be hardware related and would require service.
