Chromebook

I just got this new laptop, as far as i know its an Acer c710 chromebook.. And i have absolutely no idea how to use this thing! Been playing around with it, i can do basics, like check email, get on facebook, etc.. but i downloaded an app the other day, dont like it, wanna delete it, but cant figure out how. Tried FAQs, it told me do this, then that, and it will be gone. Problem.. i CANT do this thing or that thing! How do i delete unwanted apps? And wheres all the other features im occustomed to seeing, such as the "trash can", and all them other lil gems that are typically on the home screen? Is there some sort of software i need to download or what? If so,  any suggestions, and how do i go about getting it/them??? Im not a rocket scientist, nor a pc nerd, so please address this in simple, easy to understand terms.. Thanks!

Find the app you want to delete. Hold two fingers on touch pad and click on app. Select Remove from Chrome. Its that simple.
