Help! D mode

I installed UBUNTU on my Acer chromebook (which I can not access) and since that I can not get into Developer mode. Is there any other way besides esc F3 pwr

There is no support provided for any operating system other than the Chrome OS on a Chromebook.

I have since found(by trial and error) that once in Developer Mode it stays in that mode until the chromebook is reverted to original
