I have had to install it as well and it is still coming up as an error message again Chrome OS is missing or damaged. I tried reinstalling the operating system however it does not work. I had just sent the item in to the company recently and they said it was repaired however the same issue again and now its not under warranty and for some reason my serial number needed to contact the company has been removed from my computer I dont know what to do with the system any ideas....

If you have the documentation from the repair, you should have all of the information on the unit, including the serial number.
You do not state which Chromebook you have, but have you looked to see if the HDD is not fully seated?

I just tried the USB recovery and that has seemed to allow it to boot back up. I am at work and have not gone through the new set up as i do not have a wireless connection here.
The video on this page clearly says, breaking the seal on the sticker over the screw will NOT void the warranty. If this USB recover does not work, I am willing to try this method as a last resort, but I can see a huge issue if this does not work and i want to try to send it in for repair. So, will removing or breaking the seal void the warranty or not?
For all of us having this issue (all seemingly at the same time), i would like to think a patch or fix is being worked on as this as certainly left me pretty displeased. I am fortunate enough that I had very little on the internal hard drive (saved most to Google Drive), but I feel bad for others that may not have done so.

maskill6,
I can only speak for the US & Canada on this issue, but we will not conern ourself with the warranty sticker.
