    Hi rogerk!

See this article here on how to install Windows 7 on a Windows 8 PC. Basically, you will need to change some BIOS settings and (hopefully) everything should go smoothly.

Let us know how you get on!

the first thing your explantion does is use windows 8

i do not have windows 8, the hard disk has crashed (dead) i was not supplied windows 8 except on the hard disk!

i am not going to buy windows 8, i think it is possibly the worst thing microsoft have ever produced

    Help Please

If you do not have a Windows 7 disk, you will need to buy one, along with a new hard drive (if the original has failed).

firstly as I have stated i have several windows 7 disks 32 and 64 bit OEM and new install original microsoft disks!

i have spent a long time going through the bios several times, the bios looks nothing like the one shown in the egsample, this is an i3 pc dont know if that changes anything.

the legacy boot is not an option it is not there!

only legacy option is a USB one

ps: just noticed the egsample is on a HP machine, probably why the bios layout is entirely different

this is an Acer pc not a HP

    Hi,

I know it's a pretty old post, but I am having exactly the same issue here. Can you please provide us with a BIOS version that you are using? (eg: P01-A2 or P11-A3). I don't seem to have the "Launch CSM" option in my BIOS(P01-A2).

Your help would be much appreciated!

    Many thanks

Is your X3995 with factory windows 8.x?

if not the latest BIOS is P01.A2

if it has windows 8 OS from factory the latest is P11.A3

    Thanks for your reply IronFLy,

I've got a P01.A2 at the moment, but it doesn't have "Authentication" tab or "Launch CSM" as well as "Secure boot" options in bios at all. I've tried updating bios to P11.A3 to no avail. It says that firmware does not match the current bios firmware size (or something similar). Have you came accross anything similar, by any chance?

    Thanks

As far as i know, your system came with windows7 as default OS.

    what's your issue exactly?
